Titus 2
What Must Be Taught to Various Groups
1You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. 2Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
3Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
6Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.
9Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
11For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
15These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

Titus 2
Pretty high bar here fellas. I could list all the things Paul did, but will not. However, there is one area I could use some prayer and that is patience
v2....They must have strong faith and be filled with love and patience.
I find it pretty hard some days after working all day to come home to 3 little ones and be full of patience. Anyway, a few prayers will help the cause I am sure.
In verses 11-15, Paul lays out a pretty good instructions for living in this world.
Father, give us all self-control. Help me display a kind of love to my wife and kids that I can only learn from understanding your love for me. Thank you for the grace you have on me and my faults.
In Christ,
cas
Titus 2:
I would start by repeating EVERYTHING that cas mentioned to a tee, including the prayer. It is very difficult after 14-16 hours of school somedays to come home get 4-5 hours of sleep and know how to even spell patience, but I do recognize that when I have it, its God's blessing.
I also noticed the passage about the slaves:
9Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, 10and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
We are so used to walking on eggshells in our society regarding slaves, but that's just what civilization was like back then, and what a better testament to God than a truly respectful, integrity-filled slave? Someone who has no promises given to him in this world, but lives as God commands because he knows there is something better afterwards. If someone who has "only" been blessed with a spot in Heaven can be faithful, respectful, and not talk back to those who repress them, who are we with our countless blessings and occasional sufferings to do anything less?
Father, grant us patience, faithfulness, and wisdom to wait for Your timing, but have the courage to act when the time is right. Let us teach each other based upon Your word and be true teachers and students. Help us to better understand and remember Your word as a guidebook for each of our actions. Please continue to keep a special eye on Ally, ER and fam, jrs, Timmcd6 and Sheree, LT, cas, and Andy's health.
Amen
