Greetings from Peter
1 This letter is from Simon[a] Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ.
I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairness[b] of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.
2 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
Growing in Faith
3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8 The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
10 So, dear brothers and sisters,[c] work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away. 11 Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Moral excellence, knowledge, self control, patient endurance, godliness, brotherly affection = a productive and knowledgable life in Christ.
And the list grows on.....
Father, give me wisdom and strength. I pray for the blog and those who read it. If it is meant to continue Father, make it clear.
In Christ,
cas
Is there another list I can work from? This one is too hard for me.
LORD, your continued blessings on our dear bother, CAS. He has given each of us a great example of devotion to You and to us. Help me in my own dedication, so that I may be blessed by the collective witness represented here. You, more than any other, know my heart and my needs, and I seek Your mercy. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Morning, guys. tba, was that a freudian slip--:) cas is our dear "bother"? I think that was his point :)
In all seriousness, I agree and am need of a renew/restart. Its interesting that its one thing after another, faith with morals, morals with knowledge, then selfcontrol, endurance and godliness.
Pretty tough list
Father, help me to bring myself to my knees so that I may start on the bottom and stop trying to jump halfway up the stairs. Let me start slow,
In Jesus' name,
Amen

I do resemble that "BOTHER" comment:o)

CAS, it IS meant to continue! I do enjoy committing myself to learn the Bible and God's word, but I need to personally commit to participating.
I could make excuses for the past 6 weeks but know that I have been reading but just not participating.
"3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life."
but it is up to us to look into our hearts and accept God and follow God.
