Acts 5 v26-32 (NLT)

The Apostles Meet Opposition Cont.

26 The captain went with his Temple guards and arrested the apostles, but without violence, for they were afraid the people would stone them. 27 Then they brought the apostles before the high council, where the high priest confronted them. 28 “Didn’t we tell you never again to teach in this man’s name?” he demanded. “Instead, you have filled all Jerusalem with your teaching about him, and you want to make us responsible for his death!”
29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority. 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead after you killed him by hanging him on a cross.[c] 31 Then God put him in the place of honor at his right hand as Prince and Savior. He did this so the people of Israel would repent of their sins and be forgiven. 32 We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.”

Question: How is your walk this week?

Quite often I walk more in mind than I do in actions. I often have good intentions (such as blogging) but far to often let my "busyness" get in the way. I pray to have an undying will and desire to walk for the Lord first and to put everything else in my life second to him.

Indeed, the pace of life these days is ridiculous. Even a few minutes of quiet devotion goes a long way. Thanks for that reminder.

Interesting that the apostles were so bold in defending their witness. My reflex action would have been to deflect the accusation by the council, rather than defend my actions.

Lord, you are worthy of our time and our devotion. Bless our efforts to follow hard after you. Amen.

Trying again from my BlackBerry. It did not work last few times. Sitting in frankfurt airport.

My walk? Well, I am definitely seeing a calling toward God in our family and at home. With everything going on perhaps we are simply seeing we need him. This weekend my wife and I agreed that the two of us and our children have too great a lack of time together on spiritual things. My wife and I are (re)committing to daily prayer together.

Lord you are indeed worthy of our praise. Help us give it more frequentl

Could be better, but I am still on the rise I think. I too am trying to recommit myself to my family and especially my to do as Paul says and treat her as Christ treats the church.

Father give us this kind of drive and courage

Im in the same place as a lot of you guys. My walk this week has been just that, weak. I'm unbelievably busy, essentially working from the moment I get up until I go to bed. I'm not taking time, and working myself sick. I certainly needed this reminder to take moments for my relationship with Christ.
