The Benefits of Wisdom
1My child,[a] listen to me and treasure my instructions. 2Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. 3Cry out for insight and understanding. 4Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure. 5Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. 6For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. 7He grants a treasure of good sense to the godly. He is their shield, protecting those who walk with integrity. 8He guards the paths of justice and protects those who are faithful to him.
9Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will know how to find the right course of action every time. 10For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. 11Wise planning will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
12Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose speech is corrupt. 13These people turn from right ways to walk down dark and evil paths. 14They rejoice in doing wrong, and they enjoy evil as it turns things upside down. 15What they do is crooked, and their ways are wrong.
16Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman, from the flattery of the adulterous woman. 17She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God. 18Entering her house leads to death; it is the road to hell.[b] 19The man who visits her is doomed. He will never reach the paths of life.
20Follow the steps of good men instead, and stay on the paths of the righteous. 21For only the upright will live in the land, and those who have integrity will remain in it. 22But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be destroyed.

Prov 2
Well, I guess I wonder how serious we are about our relationship with Christ sometimes based on our priorities - what I am saying is how much of what we do is lip service and how committed are we really. Mainly pointing the finger at myself, but it probably never hurts for any of us to give ourselves a good gut-check.
3Cry out for insight and understanding.
I have really been praying a lot for this these days and most of you are probably thinking I need a little extra :)
v7...He is their shield, protecting those who walk with integrity.
Father be our shield in this crazy world. Give us a peace that other want to find out about. Give us the wisdom to always seek You and lean on You.

Pr 2
As I continue to get older, and I'm one of the older folks in my lab, it slowly occurs to me how much wisdom I've picked up in my 28 years here.
10For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. 11Wise planning will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
Only when God grants me the perspective, do I understand how much He's already taught me. In the context of my day to day stuff, I don't realize all the small judgement calls I make based upon my relationship with God, and its in a more distant perspective that I recognize how blessed I am, and how lucky I am to have Him in my daily life. That grants me the happiness and joy Solomon is describing.
Father, thank You for allowing me to learn Your ways and live Your ways. I am far from perfect, but I'm happy in the small amount of wisdom You have granted me. Help me gain more from You. Continue to watch over our resurgent group of men. In Jesus' name,
Amen

Proverbs 2
Morning Fellas,
As I read this passage, I quickly remember how the wisdom of God protects and guides us in our lives. Sometimes, as I struggle in this evil world trying to live my life in the reflection of God on a daily basis, I need to be reminded of the benefits of God's wisdom.
vs 8-9. (8)He guards the paths of justice and protects those who are faithful to him. (9) Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will know how to find the right course of action every time.
Lord, I pray that we always choose the right path along our journery in life.
Amen, LT
