Question for today: Are you paying attention to what you read??
Paying Attention to Scripture
12 Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught. 13 And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.[d] 14 For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,[e] 15 so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.
16 For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes 17 when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”[f] 18 We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.
19 Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines[g] in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding,[h] 21 or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

The answer for me is sometimes.
And I defintely need to be reminded often about the truth I have been taught.
Father, I pray that You become more and more the focus of my thoughts.

I know I need reminding some times to live the "word" and not just read it.
Lord, I simply echo CAS pray to become more dedicated to you and your principles.

Recently, I did some study using a method called lectio divina, or divine reading (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lectio_divina). It must have its basis in this section of Scripture. It certainly helped me better understand the passges we were studying at the time.
LORD, speak to us through Your Word, but help us to be better listeners. Amen.

read it...(and paid attention to it).
I need to get better at the latter on a daily basis.

I think things can be summed up in verse 12 "Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught."
....we need to be reminded, why? because we are human and it's our nature? Because we become attached to things on this earth more so than being attached to the Lords word?
For me, my faith started not too long ago so I do pay attention to what I read but I'm still feeling things out as far as how to react. It should come naturally but it's like studying for that big exam and then walking into class the day of the exam and everything seems to leave the brain.
I just know that the test is to read and read and read. The interactions (like 'The Sounding') will come. We all have to take baby steps somewhere.
Thank you Lord for 'The Sounding' and for the patience CAS has with us at times.
I echo all of the above - can not be reminded enough, and it all starts with reading God's Word on a daily basis.
