You Must Share.

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you….
--1 Peter 3:15

As followers of Jesus Christ, you and I have been called to share the gospel with others. But not everyone finds that an easy task!

If you feel unsure about how to express your faith, or you feel afraid of what people will say, how can you break through that barrier and obey God’s command to tell others about Jesus?
First of all, I believe you need to ask the Lord to help you. As you come to Him, admitting your fears, asking Him to give you the desire, courage, and opportunities to share your faith, He will enable you to do it.

There are many things in life that we feel unable to do. It doesn’t mean we can’t do it… it just means we need the Lord’s help!

And secondly, watch for opportunities to let people know that you are a Christian and let the conversations unfold naturally. Almost every week, someone will ask you what you did on the weekend. Tell them you went to church!

There are a thousand ways you can let people know that you believe in Jesus and that He has changed your life. Just make a start and you’ll grow in confidence!

AS YOU LET YOUR PRIVATE CHRISTIAN LIFE BECOME PUBLIC,YOU’LL FIND MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE YOUR FAITH.

As I have gotten older (no comments on this), I have become a lot bolder in sharing my faith. That being said, I am not even close to where I should be. Father give us all the burning desire to share You with others.

Here's a thought to consider:

I am a computer geek. I admit it...

That means that if you are around me, the conversation will, at some point, turn to technology. I can't help it - my mind just naturally goes that direction. As a result, when people are around me, they expect to talk about technology.

Now, If I am becoming like Christ on a daily basis, the same should be true. If you are around me for very long, the conversation will naturally turn to Christ. I don't try to come up with some nifty way of interjecting Him into my language - it just happens - because He is on my mind. I'm not "evangelizing", I'm just talking about my passions in life - the things that I can't help but talk about.

Therefore, love Him first! Really, really, love Him. And showing Him to the world will not be a problem! I pray that this will be true in my heart!

CAS and DSD, very well said. I have to have the heart for those around me. I love sports. There are numerous sports personalities that have given their lives to Christ. I can be bold about the truth that I know and the secular passions I have.

Please pray for the Middle School kids that I help lead with another parent in our church. We're going to offer kids to accept Christ.

Thanks everyone!!
