1 John 1
The Word of Life
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 2The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write this to make our[a] joy complete.
Walking in the light
5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all[b] sin.
8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

I think it is amazing how often I forget to ask for forgiveness. Sometimes I worry about the things I forget to pray about and hope that some sort of global forgiveness will work. I certainly know that I am a sinner and that only by grace am I saved. Thank the Lord for that.
Father, Help us walk in the light and learn to start our days focused on you. Help us to truly repent of the sin we have committed and help us to be strong in our walk.

Morning Fella Brothers,
This chapter reminds us that no one is without sin and just ask for forgiveness for the sins that we have committed against Jesus.
Lord, I come to you this morning first giving thanks and secondly asking for forgiveness for the sins that I have committed. Help my brothers and myself live to walk with you every step along our path of life.
Amen,
LT

It seems to me that for the 465th example in the last 2 months, God is trying to slam home the idea that we can't have it both ways:
6If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
Another constant reminder (and I know I need it) that we can't live in God's word and also live "of the world". Instead, we must live in the world as God's emissaries.
Thank you Father for the unending patience and love. Let us learn the lessons you continue to teach us. Watch over these men, and let them live out these words.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Well, what can I add, but
I am a sinner too!
Lord forgive me for my lack of discipline in so many ways. Help to follow after you.
In christs name, Amen
I deal with the same thoughts as mentioned by all of us. Praise God for His grace and mercy. It is amazing that our fellowship does not emerge from hobbies or even a common past, rather it grows from deeply abiding in Christ.
Father, thank you for knitting Your body together out of flesh and blood...flawed men such as us. Thank you for your forgiveness and grace which propels us forward in life. Forgive us for taking it for granted so often.
In Christ's name,
