Question: Are you being held accountable by another brother? I may have asked this before, but it is really important.
Peter Preaches to the Crowd
14 Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd, “Listen carefully, all of you, fellow Jews and residents of Jerusalem! Make no mistake about this. 15 These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning is much too early for that. 16 No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel:
17 ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men and women alike— and they will prophesy. 19 And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below— blood and fire and clouds of smoke. 20 The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the Lord arrives. 21 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’[c]
22 “People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene[d] by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know. 23 But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him. 24 But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip. 25 King David said this about him:
‘I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. 26 No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope. 27 For you will not leave my soul among the dead[e] or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave. 28 You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’[f]

Yes, for the most part, but it could be better... Especially the things I don't want to work on
We should read vs 25-28 daily toremind ourselves of what God can do and that we should be filled with JOY!

yes..but it lacks depth..my fault..
No, at the moment I'm "running wild" and irresponsible! Seriously, while I have some men who surely care deeply about me, I do not have a guy to hold me accountable. That was the great thing about Top Gun - there were 9 other guys who had my back. I'm confident, though, that God will put someone next to me soon.

Similarly, I don't have anyone at all right now. All of the guys who could/would hold me accountable have all graduated, and I haven't gotten a chance to get to know the youngest of my co-worker/co-students. At this point I'm 8-9 years older than most of them, so it makes it very difficult to make a connection and we're fighting so many different battles. I'm going to step out and try and connect with an acquaintance at church and make something happen.

we meet regularly, and this is better than living alone in the world.
i am glad that we have that time. But, as cas says, it could be better.
To be honest. This little blog is probably more than most christian men get. I know that when I don't blog, there is a group of guys who know I did not.
Aside from 'the sounding', I have no one holding me accountable except for myself. For those of you who participated in Top Gun or any other face to face Bible meetings, did that make things more accountable?
Brooksie, absolutely do Topgun
